Some time ago I had some extra framed images hanging around, so I put them in a friend’s garage sale. And during that garage sale, someone noticed the images and decided I had talent. This someone mentioned I should be in their gallery. So, I went to said gallery, filled out the application and was told, thank you very much. We have a pretty long waiting list right now and we’ll call you when your name comes up.
So I waited, and went on with my life and pretty much forgot about that application. Fast forward almost 2 1/2 years and I got a phone call from said gallery. They were looking for two new artists, a painter and a photographer and my application was next in line. Was I interested? Well – hot dang!! Of course I was interested. But there was a commitment – can you do this for a year? But of course! I will give it my very best. Oh, by the way, you need to spend at least 6 days volunteering at the gallery. 6 days out of 365?? Heck yeah – piece of cake!
With that said, I am thrilled to announce that dreams do come true. Starting in December, I will have work displayed in the Stillwater Art Guild Gallery – for a year! Who knew? My first display of MN N. Shore Winter images will be installed in the next week. Stay tuned for details.
