January, the New Year, starting over and planning. For many of us, the start of a New Year means planning – for vacations, trips, big events. And I am no different.
In January, I pull out my new calendar and start marking up known events or places I know I have set dates for. Then I enter that one week vacation I’ve thought about and planned for. Finally, I plot out the “idea” events, you know, the trips or places you’ve thought about over the last year, where they fit on the calendar and start marking off dates. But there is always that one trip, that one place, that one repeat location that sometimes doesn’t make it in.
And for me, it’s the Boundary Waters…It’s a place of serenity, calm and peace. The one place where one can feel the stress of life slip away, that one place where you heal, that one place that takes away all the bad things in life. Have you put the Boundary Waters in your plan for the year? And if not, have you planned at least for time away – to your own special place that cures what ails you? The year is still young – don’t let planning slip away.
