I love to camp, doesn’t matter if it’s in a tent or our camper. Just being in the outdoors fills my soul. We spend a lot of time camping and quite a few of our trips will take us to one of the many state parks in Minnesota. Our most recent trip took us to Blue Mounds State Park in SW Minnesota. This park is quite different that many of the other parks. They have bison and cactus – yup, cactus. The prickly pear cactus grows in the quartzite outcrops.
On the prairie, the sunrises and sunsets are stunning, the views breathtaking and if you’re patient, you can even see the buffalo.
So put on your wandering shoes, hide the electronics, throw a tent in the car and pick a park, any state park and start exploring. When you get there, just sit and breath – the fresh air will do a soul good.
